Condition application

Washing Tank

Although larger particulate matter is filtered out, other compounds are deposited on the compressor blades and the compressor wash removes the deposited dirt. Water washing is also used to clean generators or other mechanical equipment parts, and the washing waste liquid needs to be discharged regularly.

Flash Tank

In the preheating system of the distillation column, a pre-flash tank system separates the steam generated before preheating from the heater or main distillation column. This prevents overheating of the heater from burning or pressure drop and reduces the steam load on the distillation column to avoid flooding.

Oil Tank

Generators and gas turbines have integrated lubrication systems built in to prevent damage from excessive friction. A portion of lubricating oil is usually also used in hydraulic oil systems. Lubricants are typically stored in one-piece stainless steel and carbon steel tanks with level monitoring.

Fuel Storage

Oil-fired igniters use natural gas or atomized fuel oil to start boiler flames in coal-fired power plants. Natural gas and propane can also be used in combined cycle power plants, and gas turbines typically use natural gas and liquid fuel oil as ignition fuels.

Condenser Hot Well

The condenser hot well acts as a reservoir for the turbine cycle. Make-up water is provided for circulation when the hot well level reaches its lowest point. Condensate is drained from the hot well to the condensate storage tank when the liquid level in the hot well reaches a high level.

Cooling Tower Pool

Open system cooling towers remove waste heat from the steam cycle by exposing the cooling water directly to the atmosphere. After evaporative heat removal, the remaining cooling water flows into the sump. Liquid level control applications include a high level switch to avoid cooling tower sump overflow.

Condensate Storage

When the condenser hot well liquid level reaches a high point, the drain valve opens to drain excess condensate from the hot well to the condensate storage tank. As condensate is lost from the turbine cycle, the hot well level is lowered and the storage tank replenishes the condenser hot well.

Boiler Blowdown Tank

Blowdown tanks receive continuous blowdown from boiler drums and discharges from steam generators at various temperatures and pressures. The blowdown tank also acts as an automatic drain system for the steam generator when draining the generator for maintenance.

Feed Water Heater

The feedwater heater raises the temperature of the boiler water by drawing steam through a turbine. The water first enters the low-pressure heater to be heated, then enters the deaerator to remove excess oxygen, and then enters the high-pressure heater for further heating and pressurization.

Power Plant Steam Drum

In gas-steam combined cycle operation, a heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) is a gas-to-water heat exchanger that extracts energy from the gas turbine exhaust and uses it to heat the steam generator to generate steam.

Waste Heat Boiler

The waste heat boiler can produce hot water or steam for use in other workshops through waste heat recovery. Since the waste heat boiler greatly improves the utilization rate of the heat released by fuel combustion, this kind of boiler is very energy-saving.
