Condition application

Return Reservoir

A heat exchanger draws vapor from the upper part of the fractionation column, cools it into a liquid, and pumps it into a liquid receiver (reflux tank). The liquid is then drawn from the bottom of the receiver by a reflux pump, a portion of which is pumped back (reflux) and reintroduced to a lower point in the column. This reflux process improves separation in the fractionation column by ensuring that enough liquid flows down to satisfy the vapor as it rises.

Hydrocracking Unit

Heavier feedstocks are generally difficult to process by catalytic cracking or reforming, but can be converted by hydrocracking. The feedstock is cracked by catalytic cracking in the presence of hydrogen, and hydrocracking produces a mixed stream of gasoline and distillates. About a dozen different hydrocracking process schemes are currently in use.

Coking Operation

Coking is the final means of converting the heaviest products of atmospheric and vacuum distillation. The feed is heated and cracked into light gases, gasoline blendstocks, distillates and diesel. Level applications for delayed and continuous (contact or fluid) coking include fractionation columns, gas oil strippers, steam, condensate, blowdown and settling drums, and vent knockout drums.

Isomerisation

Isomerization is the modification of the arrangement of atoms under various process configurations to convert n-butane to isobutane, and n-pentane and hexane to high-octane gasoline components. Isomerization is similar to catalytic reforming in that the hydrocarbon molecules are rearranged, but isomerization only converts normal paraffins to isoparaffins.

Solvent Extraction

The heavy fraction that remains after distillation of crude oil is called petroleum residue. Various solvent extraction processes produce deasphalted oil (DAO) from these residues. These oils are the feedstock for downstream catalytic cracking units and hydrocrackers. Depending on the system configuration, separators, pre-flash, strippers and level monitoring of the hot oil phase may be included in buffer tanks, flash tanks, separators and strippers.

Alkylation Storage Tank

Storage and cleaning vessels for the alkylation unit include fresh and spent acid and water, acid analyzer settling tanks, and several wash tanks. The caustic wash neutralizes the free acid released from the reaction zone and neutralizes the alkyl sulfates in the net effluent. The water wash breaks down the remaining esters and removes caustics and salts that may have arisen from the caustic wash.

Sulfur Recovery

The device is used to recover sulfur from acid gas containing hydrogen sulfide produced in the refining process, and adopt appropriate process methods to realize clean production, turn harm into profit, turn waste into wealth, reduce pollution, and protect the environment. Meet product quality requirements, reduce corrosion, and realize long-term safe production of devices.

Hydrodesulfurization Unit

Catalytic hydrotreating is the treatment of liquid hydrocarbons in a hydrogen environment. This process removes 90% of impurities such as sulfur, nitrogen, oxygen and metals from the feed. Hydrotreating can also be used for hydrodearomatization (HDAr), heavy diesel oil hydrocracking (HDHDC), dewaxing, and improving the performance of pyrolysis gas and diesel.

Crude oil Storage

After crude oil reaches the refinery terminal, it is pumped into surface storage tanks with storage capacities ranging from thousands to millions of gallons. These tanks are field fabricated floating or fixed roof tanks according to API standards.

Distillation Tower

After desalination, the crude oil enters a distillation column. In order to separate mixed liquids, the principle of different volatility (boiling point) of different liquids under different conditions is used for liquid separation, so as to achieve the purification effect.

Reboiler

A reboiler, or evaporator, is a heat exchanger that provides heat to the bottom of a distillation column. They boil the bottoms liquid to create vapor, which is returned to the column to drive the distillation separation process.

Crude Oil Desalting

Crude oil residual brine contains salts that cause severe corrosion and scaling and must be removed. Although refineries are the most economical desalination sites, pipeline protection usually requires desalination at the production site.
