At 18:32 on December 11, Hualong No. 1 demonstration project, the reactor of Fuqing Nuclear Power Unit 6 of China National Nuclear Corporation, was successfully completed for the first time.

Approved by the National Nuclear Safety Administration and verified by the East China Nuclear and Radiation Safety Supervision Station, Unit 6 of Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant began to implement critical operation of the reactor. By diluting the boron concentration in the primary circuit and increasing the control rod operation, the reactor reached the critical state for the first time, the whole critical process of the unit was stable and orderly, and the system operating parameters were normal.

Hualong One is the third-generation nuclear power technology with complete independent property rights in my country, and it is the “national business card” for my country’s nuclear power to go to the world. On May 7, 2015, the world’s first Hualong One demonstration project started construction in Fuqing. Fuqing Nuclear Power has always adhered to the principle of “safety first, quality first”, adhering to the core values ​​of “responsibility, safety, innovation, and coordination”, and adhering to the working philosophy of “fully prepared, meticulous, foolproof, and one-time success” to promote Hualong One in a safe and orderly manner Various works of demonstration projects.

At present, Unit 5 of Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant, the world’s first Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant, has successfully completed the first cycle of safe operation and started its first refueling overhaul. After completing a series of critical related tests, unit 6 will conduct the first nuclear steam run-in and grid connection test of the turbo-generator unit.

After Fuqing Nuclear Power Units 1-6 are fully completed, the total installed capacity will reach 6.678 million kilowatts, and the annual power generation capacity will reach 50 billion kilowatt-hours at that time.
